On Saturday, June 1, 2019, for the tenth consecutive year, the Sage Port HOA worked with the Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP) and brought chipping services to area property owners. Multiple properties in Sage Port Filing 2, Sage Port Filing 4, Sterling Point and the Sage Port at Antlers participated in the event. The chipping service was free for SPHOA members who helped load the slash into the chipper, and was reasonably-priced for non-SPHOA members. The event this year had more participants than any previous year.
A delicious hot lunch and cold beverages were provided to participants and volunteers at the home of Larry and Mary Horwitz. Thanks to Larry Horwitz for coordinating the chipping event, and to all participants and volunteers for making the 2019 Sage Port Chipping Day a success.
The event is becoming more popular every year. Wildfire mitigation efforts such as these make our community safer.
