I-25 South Gap Project Environmental Assessment: Review and Public Comments

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have released the I-25 South Gap: Monument to Castle Rock Environmental Assessment (EA) for public review and comment.

CDOT proposes to expand I-25 between Monument and Castle Rock by adding a new tolled Express Lane in each direction, widening shoulders, replacing outdated infrastructure and addressing design deficiencies of the aging roadway. All improvements are planned within CDOT’s right of way, and no property acquisition is anticipated.

Do you have comments you want to share with CDOT regarding the proposed project?  Do you think the EA adequately addresses the noise impact the expanded highway will have on nearby subdivisions West of I-25 (for example Sage Port, Hidden Forest, Bear Dance, etc.)? How do you feel about the proposed toll lanes versus free general purpose lanes? Do you think the EA should address in more detail the Tomah Road/Skyview Lane overpass, and public use of Skyview Lane?

Speak now or forever hold your peace.  Submit your public comments online directly to CDOT at http://i25cosden.codot.commentinput.com/?id=Mpsx2 through May 29, 2018.
